Laboratory of Veterinary Environmental Health

Laboratory of Veterinary Environmental Health

The major focus of the Environmental Health is to investigate and assess the impact of environmental health hazards on People and animals in vivo. Our research involves understanding the effect of biological, chemical and physical environmental agents on health and the well-being of humans and animals and developing mechanism-based molecular biomarkers.

Our missions are three-fold :

  • Conduct mechanism-based research focusing on adverse effects on human health caused by chemical and physical agents, either natural or artificial
  • Train undergraduate and graduate research scientists
  • Improve the public health through the development of markers of exposure and susceptibility, and the design of rational approaches for preventive intervention in at-risk populations
