Laboratory of Veterinary Biochemistry

Laboratory of Veterinary Biochemistry has two main research fields. One is conservation genetics and conservation medicine. It applies molecular genetic and medical research tools for the conservation of endangered wildlife species. The other research is carried out by proteomic approaches on several themes, such as lung cancer, stem cells and bone biology. In detail, lung cancer team works on protein biomarkers for lung cancer diagnosis or prognosis prediction. Members of stem cell team study several target protein functions in bone marrow derived mesenchymal stem cells and iPS. Members who are working on bone biology use many genetically modified mouse models as well as proteomics to reveal the regulatory systems on osteogenesis and calcification.
