Laboratory of Aquatic Biomedicine

Laboratory of Aquatic Biomedicine

Our laboratory aims at studying the pathogenesis of bacterial, parasitic and viral disease at the cellular and molecular levels, and developing a rapid and accurate diagnostic system for the protection of aquatic animal health. Specifically, we investigate disease prevention countermeasures that trace the origin of disease/pathogen dynamics, using various methods of anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, histology, immunology, microbiology, parasitology, and virology. Also, we have recently included pet fish in our research area to reflect the growing interest in fish as companion animals.
