The Veterinary Dentistry Laboratory aims to advance evidence-based veterinary dental care through education, clinical training, and research. The laboratory works to improve the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of dental and maxillofacial diseases in animals; provide training in veterinary dentistry for students and veterinary professionals; and contribute to the continued development of veterinary dentistry as a clinical and academic discipline.
Teaching and research encompass periodontal disease, endodontic disease, tooth surface disorders, oral surgery, and dental imaging. The laboratory conducts basic and clinical research on disease development, progression, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention, with a particular focus on AI-assisted, CBCT-based three-dimensional imaging analysis of the oral and maxillofacial region in companion animals.
